Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Wrype (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using wrype you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you:

• Create an account — name, email address, password (stored hashed by Supabase Auth), and role (shop, installer, designer)
• Build your profile — bio, location, travel radius, skills, hourly/day/sq-ft rates, years of experience, avatar photo, certifications, and Certificate of Insurance documents
• Post jobs or bids — job descriptions, budgets, locations, photos, proposed rates, cover messages, and portfolio selections
• Communicate — direct messages between users, reviews, and endorsements
• Subscribe to Pro — billing details handled by Stripe (we never see your full card number)

We also automatically collect: profile views (so Pro members can see traffic to their profiles), basic usage information, and technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the marketplace and match shops with professionals
• To send transactional emails (new bids, accepted bids, expiring COIs, password resets)
• To display public profile and portfolio information to other users
• To process subscription payments via Stripe
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse
• To improve the service based on aggregate usage

4. Information Visible to Other Users

Your public profile page displays your name, role, city/state, bio, skills, portfolio photos, certifications, COI status (valid/expired), endorsements, reviews, active jobs, and completed jobs. This information is visible to anyone with the link, including search engines.

Your email address, phone number, and exact street address are NOT shown publicly. Direct messages are visible only to the two parties in the conversation.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following processors:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
• Stripe — subscription billing
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Mapbox — geocoding city names for search
• Vercel — application hosting

Each processor has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum information needed for them to perform their function.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or accounting purposes (such as billing records). Public content you posted (job listings, reviews) may remain in anonymized form.

8. Your Rights

You can:

• Update your profile and account info at any time from Edit Profile
• Request a copy of your data
• Request deletion of your account
• Opt out of non-essential email notifications

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, hashed passwords, and encrypted database connections. No system is perfectly secure, however. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately.

10. Children

Wrype is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice.
